GSW Project Volume 01

This is the first Volume in a very large collection of Frank Zappa spoken word releases. It’s called the GSW Project. GSW stands for Gigantic Spoken Word. There will be some music in there but there won’t be any live concerts in the GSW Project. They consist of radio interviews and journalist reporter type personal interviews. During the radio interviews sometimes music was played as background or added before thebroadcast in between questions and answers. Sometimes FZ acts as D.J., plays records from his collection and talks to the radio audience. But the main focus of this series is FZ interviews which to me is as interesting as his music.

Meu primeiro contato com o som da Patti Smith veio do fato dela ter sido esposa do Sonic Smith do MC5, depois é que fui saber que a música “Because the Night” era dela.
Hoje gosto muito e vejo na PJ Harvey uma continuação da Patti Smith, por isso gosto das duas.

My first contact with Patti Smith’s music happened because she was Fred ‘Sonic’ Smith’s wife (From the MC5), so, a little after I discovered that “Because the Night” were written by her.
Today I like her music so much, and I see at PJ Harvey’s a follow up of Patti’s work, that’s why I adore both!

Tujiko Noriko! Grande nome da música “glitch”, experimental, avant-garde com toques de leve obscuridade, um som de inverno, com muitas sobreposições vocais. Acreditem, antes de ser artista musical ela trabalhava num restaurante japonês cozinhando tartarugas! Achei um bootleg dela com tracklist desconhecido, só sei que é de um show no festival Mutek. e a última música é “Atto Moi Ikai Dake” do álbum “J” (com colaboração de Riow Arai).

Tujiko Noriko! One of the biggest names on glitch, experimental avant-garde music! Believe it! She was a cooker before joining music-craft, a turtle cooker from Japan. This bootleg doesn’t have a tracklist, I just know it is from Mutek’s Festival and the last song is “Atto Moi Ikai Dake” from “J” (made in colaboration with Riow Arai).
